Lobby Display Quilts

Listed below is the submission form and general information about the Lobby Display during the 2024 Colour the World Quilt Show:

Lobby Display Quilts Submission Form

General Information

  1. Quilts will be accepted from all members including our new members.
  2. All loaned quilts must be submitted online through the website. If you need help with this, please contact Elizabeth or Anne.
  3. One form must be completed for each quilt, so if you are loaning multiple quilts, you must complete multiple forms. Please prioritize your entries.
  4. All quilts must have a hanging sleeve attached. This sleeve must be a minimum of 3 inches (that is a 6” circumference). Temporary sleeves are acceptable. There is a video link below if you need some help creating one.
  5. Your quilt must have an identifying label on the back with minimum of your name and phone number.
  6. A picture of your quilt is required. It is not necessary for your quilt to be finished at time of submission. Picture of pattern is acceptable as long as your colour way is specified!
  7. Accurate measurements are essential.
  8. Online quilt submissions will be open April 1 until May 13, 2024.  Should we receive more than 60 quilts, we plan to select at least one quilt from members who have submitted multiple quilts.  Members will be notified by e-mail on or before May 21, 2024.
  9. Drop off zones for lobby quilts are May 27 at the afternoon Guild AGM (in the lobby) and May 28 between 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at St. Marks Church, 138 Hoylake Road in Qualicum Beach.

Lobby Quilt Information about Hanging Sleeves

All quilts in the lobby, regardless of size, will require a hanging sleeve, either permanent or temporary. These must be a minimum of 3 inches width (cut your fabric tube at least 6 1/2 inches wide). If your quilt is especially wide or heavy, consider leaving a gap in the middle to accommodate an extra support.

Here is a link for a video on how to make a hanging sleeve. They mention a 4” wide sleeve. Yours can be narrower (minimum 3”) if you wish.
